THIS FRAGMENT OF carved limestone presumably comes from a larger panel that lists the dynastic progression of rulers or kings. There of its twelve hieroglpyhs (half of them only partially preserved) provide the regal name and title of K'inich Ahkal Mo' Nahb III, who ruled Palenque from AD 721 until at least AD 736. Fortunately, enough survives of the central double-column to allow the reconstruction of much of the original text: “Nine years, thirteen score and eighteen days passed between [the coronation of] K'inich Ahkal Mo' Nahb, Divine Lord of Palenque, on the day 9 Ik' and [the end of the fifteenth katun] on 4 Ajaw 13 Yaxsihoom (August 18, AD 731).”
